Ironwood State Prison is an active California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation prison in Blythe. A release from Ironwood is not a Riverside Sheriff jail release. Ironwood Release Dates

California prison release dates use CDCR and Board of Parole Hearings terminology. BPH defines EPRD, or Earliest Possible Release Date, for determinate sentences. It defines MEPD, or Minimum Eligible Parole Date, for life-with-parole cases. It also defines NPED for nonviolent parole review, YPED for youth parole eligibility, EPED for elderly parole eligibility, and the controlling parole eligible date when more than one path can apply.

Ironwood Blythe Context

Ironwood sits in the same broad Blythe area that creates confusion with Blythe Jail and the former Chuckawalla Valley State Prison. The facility names sound local, but the record systems are not interchangeable. Blythe Jail is a Sheriff facility. Ironwood is active CDCR custody. Chuckawalla was deactivated in November 2024, so a current state prison release in the Blythe area should not be assigned to Chuckawalla unless CDCR records specifically show old custody there.
